A Documentary on Time for a Change Free Trade Africa
| dc.description | The Second Africa Trade Forum was held from 24-26 September 2012 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Stakeholders attended and concluded their deliberations with proposals on the way forward for Regional Economic Communities and member states engaged in shaping the establishment of the Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA). The forum was held on the theme of boosting intra-African trade and establishing the Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA). The recommendations aimed at the October joint meeting of Ministers of Trade and Ministers of Agriculture, on boosting intra-African trade, agricultural transformation, and ensuring food and nutrition security. In this regard, the a24 media on the Africa Voice program made a documentary. This documentary shows the African regional free trade potential. Currently, only 10% of trade in Africa occurs between African countries. The commentators indicated that if regional trade increases many market's products and services will improve. The African Union and its member states have committed themselves to a continental free trade area by 2017. The possibility of the Continental Free Trade Area was commented by Patrik Obath Chairperson of Kenya Private Sector Alliance, Alykhan Satchu Financial Analyst, Maina Karuiu Quality Manager Kenya Horticultural Exporters, Jane Njeru CEO of Kenya Transporters Association, Jinal Sbah Director Umoja Rubbers, Truck Driver, and Clothes Vendor. | en |
