dc.descriptionMeasures to prevent, reduce or eliminate the tendency towards the misuse of narcotic drugs are among the aims of the first African seminar on narcotic problems, which opened in Africa Hall, Addis Ababa, on 11 November 1963. From 17 African countries, the participants include experts in public health administration and medicine, and representatives of Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization), the World Health Organization (WHO), the United States Federal Bureau of Narcotics, and the Permanent Central Opium Board. The seminar is held under the auspices of the U.N. Economic Commission of Africa and is scheduled to continue Until 22 November.en
