Ninth Session of Economic Commission for Africa

dc.description	The Ninth Session of the Economic Commission for Africa opened Africa Hall on 03 February 1969 Addis Ababa. The ceremony was marked by tenth anniversary inaugural speeches by the Emperor of Ethiopia, the secretary-General, U Thant, and Allison Ayda, outgoing chairman of ECA’s eighth session. Before beginning the regular work of the session, which is due to continue until 14 February, the commission completed 10years of work on 29 April 1968, and its current session will evaluate the accomplishments of this period. It will also review economic and social conditions in Africa and the commission’s future work programme.	en
