| dc.description | On 28 June 2018, a seminar on African economic development and Japan’s contribution to Africa through TICAD was held at UNECA. Dr. Katsumi Hirano, Executive Vice-President of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), gave his lecture, which widely assessed economic development experiences in Asian countries, myths and realities of Africa, and the challenges facing Japanese private companies in Africa.
The seminar was attended by H.E. Ambassador Fumio Shimuzu, Ambassador of Japan to the AU; H.E. Professor Victor Harison, Commissioner of Economic Affairs and Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission; Mr. Adam B. Elhiraika, Director of Macroeconomic and Governance Division at the UNECA; members of the Diplomatic Corps and resident Ambassadors; as well as members of the private sector, academia, and the media. | en |
