2019 International Translation Day
| dc.description | International Translation Day is celebrated every year on 30 September, in honor of Saint Jerome, the Patron Saint of translators. All official ECA languages, English, French, and Arabic were represented in the orators’ speeches, with special mentions going out to Spanish and Chinese in the form of a poetry reading and words of appreciation, respectively. Representatives from several embassies were presented, as well as His Excellency Mr. Boubacar Issa Abdourhamane president of the local chapter of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIC), and Professor Ying, Director of the Confucius Institute in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. | en |
