| dc.description | The fifty-sixth session of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) was held from February 28 to March 5, 2024, in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, under the theme: "Financing the Transition to Inclusive Green Economies in Africa: Imperatives, Opportunities, and Policy Options." The event commenced with a preparatory meeting of the Committee of Experts of the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development and concluded with the ministerial segment. At the closing of CoM2024, ECA's Executive Secretary, Claver Gatete, highlighted key outcomes, including the need for reforms to the global financial architecture, tools and institutions to close the technology gap, and innovative financing mechanisms underpinned by robust governance frameworks. | en |
