Wellness Week, Re-Launch of the Tullu Dimtu Mountain at Niger Building
dc.description | Addis Ababa 22 January 2019: United Nations agencies in the premises of Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) launched today the UN Wellness Week under the theme; “Embraces your health built by you!”. The launch was kicked off in the morning by a Zumba exercise class that saw UN staff joining in to flex their muscles before heading off to the office. According to the organizing team, the week was aimed at reminding staff of the need to make a habit of integrating physical activity and the power of movement into daily routines. Regular physical activity such as walking, cycling, wheeling, doing sports, or active recreation provides us with significant health benefits. By becoming more active throughout the day in relatively simple ways, one can easily achieve the recommended activity levels and thereby prevent non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases, and chronic respiratory diseases. | en |
