Gatete emphasized the importance of addressing issues such as debt, Domestic Resource Mobilization (DRM), the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and the need for a fair tax regime.
He urged member states to contribute to the UN Pact4TheFuture, emphasizing its role in Africa's development. Gatete advocated for financing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), redirecting funds towards SDRs, derisking investments, and implementing measures such as Carbon and Blue/Green bond pricing.
