| dc.description | The Fifth Joint Annual Meetings of the African Union (AU) Conference of Ministers of Economy and Finance and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development met on the theme of “Unleashing Africa’s potential as a pole of global growth” at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 22-25 March 2012. In this video, Mr. Abdoulie Janneh, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the ECA part one opening statement declared that the Millennium Development Goals remain a vital objective for our countries, and we continue to monitor and track progress in the annual report produced with our partners, the current report shows that African countries are making steady progress across various areas. However, this is not enough as the year 2015 is almost upon us and the attainment of the goals remains central to Africa’s transformation agenda.
