| dc.description | The UN Economic Commission for Africa organized its monthly social dialogue series inviting individuals to feel that their authentic selves are welcomed at work, enabling them to share their social experiences and lessons learned in their professional journey. This episode was hosted by the Chief of Staff (Sweta Saxena) and she was joined by Dr. Grace Fombad, the Chief Medical Officer at UNHCC – the ECA Healthcare Center. The seventh episode of the Social Dialogue Series took place at the ECA on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Limpopo Library KMSS Lecture Room Addis Ababa. Episode seventh was themed ‘Musings on Work and Life at the UN Resident.’ The discussion focused on the ECA-LIMP-KMSS dialogue series and the participation of retirees in these dialogues. Dr. Grace shared her personal experiences as an international civil servant with the UN. The speaker also shared her experiences and challenges faced while serving in a peacekeeping mission in Burundi. The speaker shared their experiences and the impact of education, international travel, and the UN on their life. A discussion took place about the importance of understanding one's purpose. The conversation revolved around the high professional standards at the clinic and the importance of gratitude and purpose in maintaining youthfulness.
