| dc.description | To maximize the SDG Summit’s impact, the Secretary-General is convening an SDG Action Weekend, which will generate opportunities for stakeholders, UN entities, and Member States to convene inside the United Nations Headquarters and set out specific commitments and contributions to drive SDG transformation between now and 2030.
The SDG Action Weekend will consist of the SDG Mobilization Day on Saturday, 16 September, and the SDG Acceleration Day on Sunday, 17 September at UNHQ in New York.
On the second day of the SDG Action Weekend, the event kicked off with the SDG Acceleration Day Opening Plenary titled "Accelerating Collective Impact." This pivotal session featured a diverse panel of representatives from various sectors within the development landscape. The central focus of this Sunday's opening session was to delve into the challenging question of how to expand the reach of successful initiatives and translate local victories into global triumphs.
The SDG Acceleration Day served as a driving force, guiding stakeholders from mere ambition to concrete action.
