| dc.description | The Government of Ethiopia hosted the 17th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) with the support of UN ECA and UN DESA. The forum took place from 28 November to 2 December 2022 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, under the overarching theme of Resilient Internet for a Shared Sustainable and Common Future. There were five themes that guided the agenda of the meeting, drawn from the Global Digital Compact found in the UN Secretary-General's report on Our Common Agenda.
The 17th annual IGF was hosted in a hybrid format. The meeting aimed at accommodating the participation of stakeholders present onsite in Addis Ababa or participating online equitably. This hybrid approach also extended to the session organizing teams (organizers, speakers, moderators, and rapporteurs) participating online or onsite.
