| dc.description | Capacity-Building Workshop for the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) was held on 06-07 July 2023 at Radisson Blu Hotel Addis Ababa. The workshop was co-organized by the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH), Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX), and FSD Africa. The capacity-building workshop addressed various topics, including the money market, fixed-income market, equity market, policymaking, and market development. According to Brook Taye, Director General of the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority Remarks, the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority is now fully established and has already delivered and consulted on some of the key directives going through the public consultation phase with the relevant stakeholders. The Authority has been extensively engaging with the public through various means and continues to develop the national capital market. The principal objective of the authority includes protecting investors ensure the existence of a capital market environment in which securities can be issued and traded in an orderly fair efficient and transparent manner. Reduce systemic risk by ensuring the integrity of the capital market and transactions and also promote the development of the capital market by creating an enabling environment for long-term investment. | en |
