| dc.description | Capacity-Building Workshop for the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) was held on 06-07 July 2023 at Radisson Blu Hotel Addis Ababa. The workshop was co-organized by the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH), Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX), and FSD Africa. The capacity-building workshop addressed various topics, including the money market, fixed-income market, equity market, policymaking, and market development. According to the Capital Markets Specialist, FSD Africa comments on the role of partnership success in the Capacity Building Workshop, ESX was born through a partnership where FSD Africa was invited by the National Bank of Ethiopia NBA to come help in the setup of the capital markets. This involved discussions between FSD Africa, the Central Bank, and the Ministry of Finance. The capital markets here needed three projects to be run together in parallel by FSD Africa, first supports the setup of the Ethiopia Capital Markets Association secondly, supports the setup of a CSD which is a Central Security depository system, and third setup of the ESX which is the Ethiopia Security Exchange. | en |
