Impact of the Crisis in Ukraine on Development Financing in Africa: Examples from Selected Countries May 14, 2022, 54th Session of the Economic Commission for Africa Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (CoM 2022)
| dc.description | The fifty-fourth session of the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development consists of the preparatory meeting of the Committee of Experts, followed by the session of the Conference in Dakar, Senegal from 11 to 17 MAY 2022. In addition to considering the statutory matters of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the Conference is one of the premier forums on the continent for dialogue and exchanges of views between African ministers responsible for finance, planning, and economic development and governors of central banks on issues pertinent to the development plan of Africa. This video indicated the impact of the crisis in Ukraine on development financing in Africa: examples from selected countries. The main target of the events was to stimulate reflection on and discussion of the impact that the crisis would have on the sustainable development of African economies and their financing needs, using Angola, Mozambique, and South Africa as examples. Finally, participants estimated the effects of the crisis on fiscal space, external balances, and debt sustainability, to determine the optimal policy responses for African countries. | en |
