| dc.description | The Economic Commission for Africa hosts the Eighth session of the United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The event takes place from 26 to 27 October 2022 on the sidelines of the Eighth Statistical Commission for Africa.
Oliver Chingyana, Director of ECA, delivered an opening remark at the UNGGIM and noted that African countries might achieve a more complete and integrated data strategy by using the frameworks and procedures created by the UNGGIM regional committee.
In opening the session, Oumar Ka, Executive Board Chair, UN-GGIM Africa, noted the key to successful geospatial information management in Africa is formulating the proper policy responses according to each country’s particular context. | en |
