Executive Secretary of ECA, Vera Songwe at the Launch of Advancing on Vaccine Acquisitions for Africa (AVAT) Compensation Plan
| dc.description | The African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT) in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, officially launched a no-fault compensation programme for COVID-19 vaccines in participating countries in Africa and the Caribbean. The AVAT No-Fault Compensation Scheme (AVAT NFCS) provides eligible individuals with prompt, fair, and transparent compensation for unlikely adverse events associated with COVID-19 vaccines procured or distributed under the AVAT Advance Purchase Commitment Framework. Executive Secretary Vera Songwe congratulated the African Union head of state led by CyrilRamaphosa, President of the African National Congress, President of the Republic of South Africa, Chair of the African Union 2020, Strive Masiyiwa, International business leader, AfricaCDC, Afrexim bank at the launch of the AVAT compensation plan, for a leading way to secure COVID-19 vaccines and the biggest immunization operation in Africa’s history. | en |
