| dc.description | This second Conference on Land Policy in Africa was hosted by the Land Policy Initiative (LPI), a joint initiative of the African Union Commission, the UN Economic Commission for Africa, and the African Development Bank. The Conference was convened under the theme, 'The Africa We Want: Achieving socioeconomic transformation through inclusive and equitable access to land by the youth,' which supports the African Union declaration of 2017 as the 'Year of Youth.'
This Session aims to share emerging lessons and challenges as well as propose steps for mainstreaming land governance in agricultural strategies, in particular, the National Agriculture Investment Plans (NAIPS) developed under the auspices of the implementation of the comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP). In particular, the Session will showcase results emanating from country-level interventions/pilot studies to promote synergies in implementing the 2009 AU Declaration on Land Issues and Challenges in Africa and the 2014 Malabo Declaration on Accelerated Agricultural Growth and Transformation. | en |
