UNECA Regional Consultation Meeting Towards the Third International Conference on Financing for Development
| dc.description | In preparation for the Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD 3), the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) hosted a regional consultation for African stakeholders. The consultation was constituted a pre-event of the Eighth Joint Annual Meetings of the African Union (AU) Specialized Technical Committee on Finance, Monetary Affairs, Economic Planning and Integration, and the ECA Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, which was took place on 25-31 March 2015. The consultation discussed: development finance priorities for Africa in the context of structural transformation; recommendations put forth in the Report of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing (ICESDF) and other relevant material on FfD and the post-2015 development agenda; and an outcome statement that will establish the draft Common African Position on Financing for Development during the intergovernmental negotiations process. The event was moderated by Dr. Abraham Tekeste, Ethiopian State Minister for Finance. Discussants included member states' representatives, regional economic communities, and civil society. | en |
