dc.description	Executive Secretary Vera Songwe met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on Thursday, August 03, 2017, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Mr. Desalegn told the ECA Chief in a meeting at his offices that the ECA may hear from his government in the next two weeks so they can finalize the long outstanding issue. Ms. Songwe, who was accompanied by her deputy, who's also the ECA's Chief Economist, Abdalla Hamdok, and Chief of Staff Collen Kelapile, discussed many issues related to the social and economic transformation of Ethiopia and the African continent but wasted no time raising issues concerning ECA staff in Addis Ababa. Mr. Desalegn responded renewed Ethiopia's commitment to finalizing the host country's agreement with the ECA once and for all. Ms. Songwe also discussed progress on the renovation of iconic Africa Hall, the African Union organization's (OAU) birthplace.	en
