Since 2012, Africa Environment Day has been celebrated with Wangari Maathai Day as a tribute to the late Nobel Laureate's green legacy.
This Wangari Maathai Day and Africa Environment Day, we have to trust and empower the next generation of environmental protection warriors. The world can learn so much from this group of Nairobi students working to Beat Plastic Pollution in their communities. The Beat Plastic Pollution Project is a Dev Training / Foundation collaborative initiative that seeks to facilitate school children on plastic pollution.
When we plant trees, we produce the seeds of peace & seeds of hope. We also secure the future of our children. Today is Wangari Maathai Day. The 1st African woman to win the Nobel peace prize, she advocated for environmental responsibility & Human rights. | en |
