| dc.description | The Seventh African Development Forum (ADF VII) was held in Addis Ababa at the United Nations Conference center from October 10-15th, 2010 under the theme of “Acting on climate change for Sustainable development in Africa”. The African Union, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and the African Development Bank organized the meeting. The meeting was attended by all stakeholders from across the African continent governments, civil society, the private sector, and the U.N. Agencies.
Thematic Cluster Session on Harnessing Means of Response to Climate Change was held during the Forum and Chaired by H.E. Mr. Festus, Former president of Botswana & Chairperson, Governing Board, Coalition for Dialogue on Africa (CODA); and had a sub-session on Climate risk management: Monitoring, Assessment, Early Warning and Disaster Risk Reduction; the Lead Speakers: Mr. Stephen E. Zebiak, Director-General, International Research Institute for climate and society (IRI) and Mr. John Harding, Secretariat for the U.N.
