The Seventh African Development Forum: Thematic Cluster Session on Climate Change, Human Development, Security, and Ecosystem Sustainability
| dc.description | The seventh African Development Forum (ADF VII) was held in Addis Ababa at the United Nations Conference Center from October 10-15th, 2010, under the theme of “Acting on climate change for Sustainable development in Africa.” The African Union, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and the African Development Bank organized the meeting. The meeting was attended by all stakeholders from across the African continent governments, civil society, the private sector, and the UN Agencies. The Thematic Cluster Session on Climate Change, Human Development, Security, and Ecosystem Sustainability was held during the Forum. The Session was chaired by Mr. Eugene Owusu, UN Regional Coordinator and Resident Representative for Ethiopia, UNDP. It had a sub-session on Climate change and human development (health, education, employment, gender, and youth). The lead Speaker was Mr. Bunmi Makinwa, Regional Director-Africa, UNFPA. Discussants were Mr. Patrick Noack, Scenario Development, HIV/AIDS and Human Development; Mr. Abdelkader Bacha, Associate Director, Global Alliance Services; Mr. Cheick Tidiane Tall, Executive Director, AfriCASO; Ms. Esther Agbarakwe, African Regional Coordinator UN Commission on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) and Coordinator and Co-Founder of Nigerian Youth Climate Coalition (NYCC). | en |
