| dc.description | Ad-hock expert group meeting on Deepening APRM best practices and lessons learned was held at United Nations Economic Commission for Africa from 28-29 April 2010, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), as a strategic partner institution of the African peer review Mechanisms (APRM) Process, has been providing advisory services, technical support, and peer learning workshops that have contributed significantly to advancing the implementation of the APRM Process both at the continental level as well as in the APRM Participating Countries.
Abdalla Hamdok, director of GPAD, opened the meeting by stating that it was organized to deepen and enrich the intellectual understanding of the genesis and rationale for the APRM within the context of African development thought in the last five decades; and to provide an African perspective to the existing literature on the APRM and other governance initiatives by placing it in its proper historical and contemporary contexts. | en |
