| dc.description | The Seventh Annual African Economic Conference 2012 took place in Kigali, Rwanda, from 30 October- 2 November 2012. The theme for this year’s conference was “Fostering Inclusive and Sustainable Development in Africa in an Age of Global Uncertainty.”
The concurrent sessions featured presentations of papers by scholars and development practitioners from the African continent. These high-quality analyses contributed to our understanding of the challenges facing inclusive and sustainable development in Africa and the options for addressing these challenges in light of the prevailing uncertainty in the global economic environment.
A session on Public Finance was held, and Shantayanan Devarajan, World Bank, chaired it. Presenters were:-Lukasz Marc, VU University Amsterdam New Evidence on Fungibility at The Aggregate Level; Felipe Zanna, IMF Public Investment, Growth, and Debt Sustainability: Putting Together the Pieces; Degol Hailu, UNDP Macroeconomic Determinants of Exit from Aid-Dependence. The discussants were Alex Warren-Rodriquez, UNDP; Steve Kayizzi-Mugerwa, African Development Bank; and Patrick Osakwe, UNECA. | en |
