ECA Launches New Report on “Building Forward Together for an African Green Recovery and a Prosperous Green South Africa” Case Study on Green Investments in RSA at the Seventh Session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development
| dc.description | The Seventh Session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD-7) convened under the theme Building forward better: towards a resilient and green Africa to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union Agenda 2063. This meeting, which took place 1-4 March 2021, was held in a hybrid format, with in-person participation in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, and online participation by the continued health and safety measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. ARFSD-7 aimed to review regional progress, facilitate peer learning, and promote transformational solutions and actions to accelerate the implementation of the African Union SDGs and Agenda 2063. Jean-Paul said that African economies have been too dependent on extractive industries, and the export of commodities needs to diversify those economies and look at that diversification in a sustainable way which also builds resilience to climate change. | en |
