The American Secretary of State Pompeo declared: Economic growth and security force the United States to work with African countries. The African leaders have discussed with the US to control illicit financing. And the USA has planned to support technical assistance. ECA Chief Vera Songwe elaborates that one of the things that the continent suffers a great deal for our public investment and private equity investments. However, because of illicit financial flows and corruption, we tend to see our resources leaving out of the continent. She also said, “We are committed to empowering women in multiple ways.”en
