Closing of the Eighth Session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development
| dc.description | The ARFSD is an annual multi-stakeholder platform organized jointly by the United Nations Economic Commission of Africa (ECA) and the Host Government in collaboration with the African Union Commission, the African Development Bank, and other entities of the United Nations System. The regional forum is one of the three mechanisms mandated to follow up, review and catalyze actions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by the UN Member States in September 2015. The Eighth Session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development was held on the theme"Building forward better: A green, inclusive and resilient Africa poised to achieve the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063" from 3-5 March 2022, Kigali, Rwanda. In closing remarks, Ms. Morsy noted that Africa urgently needs to progress on the five Sustainable Development Goals focused on quality education, gender equality, water, land degradation, and partnerships with other continents. | en |
