The overall objective was socioeconomic impacts on countries and Africa, both the actual costs entailed and growth and development prospects, to devise policy recommendations to accompany mitigation efforts. The findings and conclusions of the study were adjusted and updated until the crisis was over and culminated in a fully-fledged evaluation of the impacts once the outbreak has contained.en
