dc.description	The seventh Joint Annual Meetings of the ECA Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and A.U. Conference of Ministers of Economy and Finance was held on 29-30 March 2014 in Abuja, Nigeria. The Conference’s objective was to provide a platform for policymakers to articulate proposals for speeding up the implementation of the accelerated industrial development of Africa(AIDA) and increase commitment and actions to advance Africa’s industrial development agenda. The Conference was opened with a welcome statement by Mr. Carlos Lopes, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the African Union Commission. Dr. Donald Kaberuka, President of the African Development Bank, and Mr. Jan Eliason, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, also made opening statements.	en
