| dc.description | The 29th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the (AU Summit) took place in Addis Ababa on July 3rd and 4th, 2017. The UN Deputy Secretary-General, H.E. Ms. Amina J. Mohammed, attended the summit in Addis Ababa.
The Deputy Secretary-General also undertook a series of bilateral meetings with Heads of State and delegations, UN officials, and the chairperson of the AU Commission.
Implementing the UN-AU joint framework for enhanced partnership in peace and security was a key topic of discussion between the UN DSG and H.E. Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the African Union Commission. In a meeting with the former President of Botswana and the Chairperson of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation (JMEC), H.E.
