dc.descriptionPresident of Ireland’s keynote address was delivered at Africa Hall, in the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa on 5th Nov 2014, when he has visited Ethiopia and included the republic of Malawi and the Republic of South Africa. Michael D. Higgins, as he mentioned in his speech the purpose of this visit was to reinforce Ireland’s bilateral relations with African countries; but also to listen, and encounter, the new departures underway or being considered by Africans for the future of their people, and said “it is an opportunity for me as President of Ireland to manifest Ireland’s desire to expand and deepen our co-operation with Africa generally, building on our longstanding ties of diplomatic exchanges, missionary activity, development co-operation, and friendship”en
