| dc.description | The African Economic Conference 2017 was jointly organized by the Economic Commission for Africa, the African Development Bank, and the United Nations Development Programme held in Addis Ababa from 4 to 6 December 2017. This session provided an opportunity for leading experts to assess the role of the State in governing Africa's structural transformation and inclusive development. Experts shared views, challenges, opportunities, and lessons on African governments' role in promoting development. Experts made policy recommendations for enhancing State capabilities and formulating and implementing appropriate strategies and policies.
