Ninth Session of the Committee on Sustainable Development and the Africa Regional Forum on the Sustainable Development
| dc.description | The ninth session of the committee on sustainable development and the Africa regional forum on sustainable development was held on 16-18 June 2015 . At its ninth session, the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) Committee on Sustainable Development discussed the role of technology and innovation in driving economic growth in the region, including consideration of the African Mining Vision, which envisages drawing on mineral resources to foster sustainable socio-economic development. The session was provided with a platform for the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD). It was organized jointly with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) in collaboration with the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), and the UN Development Programme (UNDP). ARFSD brought together government ministries and agencies, major groups, and other stakeholders.
